Cross-disciplinary and experiential instruction is at the heart of our World Languages program, culminating in a trip to French-speaking Quebec in 6th grade. In 7th grade, students have the option to begin Spanish study, and the middle school program is aimed at preparing students for advanced language study in high school.

Maple Street School was built on the premise of blending indoor and outdoor spaces. With the goals of inquiry-based, nature-driven education, Maple Street School expanded its curricular focus and developed a 0.7-mile trail system to access its eight Outdoor Classroom spaces, including Three Maples.

The Gates Lowerre Library is the heart of the Maple Street School community. Weekly meetings and classes, outside community events and milestones are all celebrated in this warm, inviting space. With more than 6,500 volumes and an online site, the library serves all students from K-8th grade. Grades K-4th have scheduled weekly library classes, and Upper School students have access to Google Classrooms, where they can request books, ask about current events and research resources, and access the Gates Lowerre Library website.
